The commissioned scope of services comprised investigations based on the construction guidelines for soil and groundwater protection for Phase IIa (orientating investigation), which looked at an economic unit (WE) with five different suspected contamination areas that were identified in the previous Phase I. The target\/bullet trap areas of the individual firing ranges represent the suspected contamination areas. The target\/bullet trap areas of the individual firing ranges represent the suspected contamination areas, and the WE was used by the German Armed Forces as a firing range between 1964 and 1997. Prior to this, the area was used for agricultural purposes. In 2002, the site was handed over to the Bundesanstalt f\u00fcr Immobilienaufgaben (Federal Real Estate Agency) and has now been examined for harmful soil changes as part of a planned restitution measure. the aim of the orientating investigation was to examine possible contamination, taking into account the soil-human impact pathway. As part of the project work, the topsoil of the shooting range areas was analysed, among other things. For a reliable statement as to whether there were any projectile residues in the embankments, these were examined by means of trenching. The results of the investigations and chemical analyses were documented and evaluated in an expert report. The focus was on a former Bundeswehr firing range that was used from 1964 to 1997. The investigation comprised orientating sampling of the topsoil on five suspected contamination areas, in particular in the target\/bullet trap areas of the firing ranges. The results were documented in an expert report, including chemical analyses and a risk assessment of the soil-human impact pathway.
