As part of this renaturalisation, the Emscher estuary at Dinslaken is also to be redesigned or relocated. The old technical estuary structure made of reinforced concrete is to be replaced by a naturally designed inlet about 500 metres further north. To this end, various earthworks and specialised civil engineering measures were carried out to prepare the relocation and the hydraulic engineering design of the estuary delta.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>TABERG Ingenieure GmbH has been providing expert support for the \"Neue Emscherm\u00fcndung\" project since 2014. To date, TABERG Ingenieure GmbH has provided the full range of services relating to soil management, geotechnical implementation support and exploration as well as health and safety coordination.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>On 9 November 2022, the \"New Emscher Estuary\" was ceremoniously opened by NRW Minister President Hendrik W\u00fcst and the redesigned estuary delta was flooded.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<iframe title=\"Livestream of the flooding and commissioning of the new Emscher estuary\" width=\"800\" height=\"450\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/5NkpccJopVc?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>After eight years of construction, the time has finally come: the Emschergenossenschaft floods the new Emscher estuary near Dinslaken in the presence of NRW Minister President Hendrik W\u00fcst. The newly designed and renaturalised Emscher estuary has been moved some 500 metres to the north. A delta of around 20 hectares has been created, which will not only offer improved flood protection in future.
