We are pleased to welcome Dr rer. nat. Simon Ritter as project manager for hydrogeology\/contaminated sites!<\/p>\n
Simon completed his Bachelor's degree in Geosciences at the University of Heidelberg. His affinity for South America was first evident in the title of his bachelor's thesis: \"Geothermometry on natural spring waters from Po\u00e7os de Caldas, Minas Gerais, Brazil\".<\/p>\n
After studying abroad for a year in S\u00e3o Paolo, Brazil, Simon returned to Heidelberg for his Master's degree in Sediment and Hydrogeology.<\/p>\n
His master's thesis deals with the hydrogeochemistry, calcareous tuff formation and temporal development of the Kaisinger Sinter Terraces calcareous tuff system in Greding, Bavaria.<\/p>\n
As a research assistant at the Institute of Environmental Physics, Simon investigated groundwater for geothermal exploration in the Upper Rhine Graben and was a member of the working group for hydrogeochemistry and hydrogeology in the project \"Geospeicher.bw zur Speicherung und Nutzung von W\u00e4rme im oberfl\u00e4chennahen Aquifer (ATES)\".<\/p>\n
For his doctorate, Simon researched unusual underwater speleothems (\"Hells Bells\") in South America.<\/p>\n
Simon remained loyal to the Hydrogeochemistry and Hydrogeology working group as a post-doc until he moved to MuP Umwelttechnik GmbH in April.<\/p>\n
