<\/h1>\n<\/h1>\nThere are many different reasons to cycle to work. In addition to your own health and the financial aspect, environmental protection is clearly also a priority these days.<\/p>\n
From the Data report<\/a> of the Federal Statistical Office from 2021 shows that bicycle use has been steadily increasing in recent years, especially in cities. While the proportion of bicycle commuters in 2002 was 12 % for a distance of 2-5 kilometres, 15 years later it was already 20 %. For a distance of 5-10 kilometres, the figure has even doubled from 6 to 12% in these 15 years.<\/p>\n At Mull und Partner Ingenieurgesellschaft, we don't just want to be committed to environmental protection, we also want to put it into practice. That's why it's great that many of our employees here in Osnabr\u00fcck already regularly use their bikes to get to work. The majority of our team has a journey to work of less than 10 kilometres and therefore falls under the data recorded by the Federal Statistical Office. In comparison, the proportion of bicycle commuters at the Osnabr\u00fcck site is 67%, which is far higher than the nationwide figures. Even the remaining 33% in the \"10 km group\" use the bicycle at least occasionally.<\/p>\n However, there are also colleagues who occasionally cycle more than 30 kilometres to work. This is no problem for us, as we have a shower in our offices, which is not only very beneficial after an off-road ride between dust and dirt, but also if you have used the journey to work as a sports session.<\/p>\n The excuses for not using the bike are of course greatly reduced as a result.<\/p>\n This year, the Osnabr\u00fcck site is taking part in the MIT DEM RAD ZU ARBEIT campaign for the first time and is now collecting days and kilometres between May and August. We will find out in September whether this is an incentive for \"infrequent cyclists\" to get on their bikes more often, how many days the teams will collect during this time and whether they will even make a profit.
