WHAT-WE-DO: As part of a large-scale remodelling project, the former railway station site in Hagen-Haspe is to be developed as a future industrial estate. M&P Hagen was commissioned by Area52 GmbH from Ennepetal in the run-up to the construction measures to carry out a contaminated site assessment and draw up a remediation concept.
Back in 1999, M&P carried out a historical survey and a detailed investigation of the former operating and factory facilities on the site.
A subsequent commercial use of the approx. 40,000 square metre site is planned, in which the former railway station building is to be integrated into the new use. The construction of the first new production building is scheduled for 2023.
After completion of the contaminated site assessment, a remediation concept was to be drawn up by M&P for the further planning of the site development and for the approval of planned soil relocations in the city area of Hagen, which was developed in accordance with the requirements of the responsible authority.
With the development of the former railway station, Area52 GmbH plans to create 200 new jobs in an innovative industry in the field of ecological and sustainable vehicle care / household cleaning / natural cosmetics and the development of machine components using 3D printer technology.
