Groundbreaking ceremony for the new corporate headquarters of Hitachi Energy Germany AG

The ground-breaking ceremony for the Hitachi Columbus Campus project in Mannheim took place on 20 September 2023 in glorious late summer weather.

A wonderful and also important event for us M&P Project GmbH as authorised Project manager and thus part of the client's team, which 3iPro GmbH.

We would like to thank the innovative project developer 3iPro GmbH for the trustful cooperation and we are very much looking forward to the joint realisation of the Hitachi Columbus Campus project.

Project description
Four commercial properties with a total usable area of approx. 22,000 sqm are planned on the 13,626 sqm site. The development is divided into a northern and a southern half with two buildings each. The ground-breaking ceremony on 20 September 2023 marked the start of the first two buildings on the southern half.
This is the new corporate headquarters of Hitachi Energy Germany AG with a usable area of around 9,700 square metres and the so-called "Tower B", another office building with an area of around 4,300 square metres.

  • rainwater storage and reuse (implementation analogue to the water-storing sponge city concept)
  • utilisation of geothermal energy and heat pumps
  • use of photovoltaics with battery storage
  • consideration of distances when using building materials
  • rebuildability of built structures, reuse of building components and materials
  • etc.
