Dismantling planning and risk assessment Muscat-Works I and II, Düsseldorf
Following the return of the properties of the insolvent animal feed manufacturer Muscat planning is now beginning for the further utilisation of the area in Düsseldorf's commercial port. The plan is to retain the typical harbour use and thus strengthen the commercial harbour in the state capital overall.
Further utilisation of the site requires the demolition of the former factory buildings. For this purpose, the existing buildings were analysed by Mull und Partner Ingenieurgesellschaft GmbH with regard to the pollutants contained in the building fabric and the materials resulting from the demolition were classified according to waste legislation.
The former factory site is an old site, and the area is also listed as an old landfill in the cadastre of the state capital Düsseldorf. For this reason, in addition to the aforementioned dismantling and disposal concept, soil analyses were also carried out for a risk assessment in accordance with the Federal Soil Protection Act (BBodSchG).
On the basis of the previous investigations, the necessary services for the demolition can be put out to tender and the property can be handed over to a new user once all the necessary work has been completed.
