The use of renewable energy sources for heating and cooling purposes makes a significant contribution to reducing the need for fossil fuels, which in turn leads to a considerable reduction in CO2 emissions in the building sector. By 2045, all existing buildings should be climate-neutral, and from 1 January 2024, new buildings must cover at least 65% of their heating requirements from renewable energy sources. A key solution to achieving these targets is the transition from fossil fuels such as natural gas and oil to environmentally friendly and sustainable alternatives such as Heat pumps.

• Air-to-water heat pumps Utilise thermal energy from the ambient air to heat or cool buildings.
• Brine-to-water heat pumps Utilise the constant temperature below the earth's surface to generate heat. This option is particularly sustainable and efficient and also enables free cooling in summer.
• Water-to-water heat pumpsExtract thermal energy from water sources such as lakes or groundwater. Ideal for heating and cooling purposes.
