Due to their embedment depth in the subsoil, deep foundation measures such as the construction of underground car parks can have an impact on the local groundwater situation. These influences must be assessed in advance by a specialist expert.
In general, numerical groundwater flow models are a suitable tool for processing geohydraulic calculations for a wide range of issues.
This approach was most recently utilised in a joint project with Mull und Partner Ingenieurgesellschaft mbH (Cologne site) in Ingolstadt. The construction of an underground car park is planned there. IBGW GmbH was asked to analyse the potential impact of this on groundwater flow conditions using a model. With the help of the simplified modelling approach, an influence on the groundwater flow conditions could be further excluded.
We at IBGW GmbH have been dealing with such issues for over 30 years and can also analyse and evaluate more complex issues with our in-house PCGEOFIM programme system.
